Satya Dev holds Post-Graduate Diploma inRural Management from the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), Gujarat State and graduated in B. Tech (Mech) from JNTU, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh State.
During his 18 years of experience, Satya has got the opportunity to work with more than 50 institutions which include national and international Development organisations, Government departments at state and central levels and coordinated large livelihood projects etc., and gained experience in designing and implementation of collective enterprises for increasing the income levels of marginalised people.
Satya has facilitated more than 25 collective enterprises on different livelihoods viz., dairy, agriculture, handlooms etc., He has worked on value addition of commodities like Redgram, Soyabean, Groundnut and Milk. He was involved in promotion of 80 primary milk producers’ collectives and in the establishment and 6 dairy processing units, including the establishment of backward and forward linkages and facilitated setting up of several micro enterprises by women members
Satya was involved in the preparation of detailed value chain analysis reports for 9 commodities and established market linkages for the value-added products of Farmer Producer Companies viz., Redgram dal, ground nut seeds and vegetables.
Satya has conducted more than 50 capacity building and ToT programmes on various themes viz., livelihoods and enterprise promotion, business planning, micro credit planning, management of SHGs, SHG- Bank Linkages etc., to various stakeholders. He was involved in the preparation of training modules on functioning and management of community owned and managed institutions. He has also prepared case studies on different livelihood enterprises. He has coordinated skill training and certification programmes for more than 6,000 rural youth.
After completing his MBA (Finance) and Post-graduate diploma in computer and commercial applications, Shesha Rao began his carrier in rural development sector and in the last 16 years, he has got vast experience in promotion and management of farmer owned enterprises. He pursued certificate courses on value chain development and management of cooperatives from Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) and Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB). He has successfully promoted and managed Farmers Collective based at Utnoor for more than 10 years.
During his tenure, the Farmers Collective has grown to 5 Cr annual turnover with 4000 members and 93 primary cooperatives and ensured profits every year. As Producer Group Formation Expert, Telangana Rural Inclusive Growth Project (TRIGP), he facilitated promotion of more than 70 Farmer Producer Companies(FPCs) and registration of 6 FPCs in Telangana state. He has gained experience on procurement and processing of Redgram, Soyabean, Groundnut and cotton commodities. He established market linkages for the value-added products viz., Redgram dal and groundnut seeds. He was awarded fellowship of Tata by Late President of India Dr. Abdul Kalam.
